Electric Smoker Ribs Recipe – How to Smoke Your Own Ribs in an Electric Smoker
How does it work? Electric smoker ribs can be cooked in three different methods depending on your preference. One method is by using dry heat. In this method a drip tray is placed directly onto the hot coals. This is done so the juices from the apple juice and meat will spurt onto the drip tray.
Second, the third method is more popular and is smoking ribs in one of two ways – top rack or bottom rack smoking. In the first method, the electric smoker ribs are placed directly onto the rack and turned on. They are then moved to the second rack where they are turned off and placed back into the first rack. This continues until the desired level of doneness has been reached. The second method is very similar but only the meat is smoked instead of the drippings.
So now we know what to do to make our own barbecue. I like to start out with my favorite recipe. This is a thick rub made from dry chili peppers, onion, cumin, salt, pepper, garlic, dry mustard and apple cider vinegar. Rub this mixture all over the outside of the pork ribs using a fork. I like to let the ribs sit overnight in the refrigerator to soak up all the juices before I start cooking them the next day. To me, this is the best BBQ rub recipe.
After I have finished rinsing the ribs, I put them on the basting brush that helps get the juices to the exterior. If you don’t have one, a good wire brush works too. Then all that is left is to wait for the juices to cook down and come out of the smoker. When I smoke my electric smoker ribs, I always use the same recipe and heat it to the exact same temperature as I did when I first made it. I let it smoke for about 4 hours, depending on what style of meat I am cooking.
If you want to try your hand at making electric smoker ribs, here’s what you do. In the tank that contains your electric smoker ribs, place a medium sized piece of dry rub. Also put a bunch of your desired meat chunks (chunks work best) and some seasoned salt. Place this on top of your electric smoker and gently flip it over so that the side with the dry rub on it, is on the bottom. Electric smokers have a heating element under a drip tray that catches the drippings.
If you are using this method for making smoky pork ribs recipe, then the meat should reach a desired temperature inside the electric smoker before they begin to smoke. You can check by inserting a toothpick into the meat. A bright red color will indicate that the meat is ready. It will be done when you can see the juices beginning to turn the bottom side of the meat a lighter shade of red.
Once you have completed this step, your electric smoker ribs recipe will have a delicious smoked flavor. I like mine with some cranberry sauce on it, but that’s just my preference. This method of cooking ribs is something that I recommend for those who are new to cooking ribs and for those who are looking to make a more advanced Smoky Pork Ribs Recipe. There are many recipes available online or in various cookbooks that are perfect for beginners to experiment with.
